About

2038356503Therapy helps YOU meet your expectations.

Sometimes, the first step in therapy can be the hardest. Some people have never done therapy and don’t know what to expect. Other people may feel uncomfortable talking to a stranger they have never met. Then there are those not used to asking for help.

Initially, you will experience a warm and supportive environment where you feel safe to share your feelings openly. Therapy is a relationship where you work closely with a trained and caring professional. For therapy to work for you, the two of us must have a sense of connection before diving deep into the underlying issues of your pain.

The general understanding of therapy is having someone to talk to about your feelings. It’s more than that. Therapy is not only feeling heard, not only feeling understood, but feeling hopeful that change is possible. There is a brief orientation to address expectations in therapy for both you and me. I will ask you a lot of questions to get a better understanding of how to help you best. This assessment is the foundation of everything we do in therapy.

You will learn and come away with good coping skills to tolerate distress, manage complicated feelings, improve your relationships, and develop insight.

About Me

AdminA desire to help others started early.

I had a calling at a very early age to serve others. Somehow, I knew I would someday help others along the way.

As a troubled young man growing up, I often struggled due to circumstances. I was blessed to have two mentors in my youth, Herman G. and Scott Simer. Both were counselors; I will forever be grateful for their guidance and support.

There’s an old expression, “Only the wounded healer can heal.” I believe this, as my own emotional scars have shaped me into who I am today, which made me more patient and sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. It made me a better counselor.

Here are my credentials.

I have a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I have an M.S. Degree in Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.

In my spare time, I like to read up on professional literature, attend training, and do consultations to keep up to date in my field.

Free time is a fun time.

In my free time, I like doing Crossfit, Yoga, Pilates, and reading science-fiction, philosophy, and news in general. Also, I enjoy movies, chess, and traveling.
